Good evening everyone! For those of you who don't know me, I'm Ed, Mike's best man. The man himself warned me this speech would be a nightmare, so here goes...

How We Met
Mike and I met at university, and let's just say our first impressions weren't exactly fireworks. I, in my infinite wisdom, declared him the funniest man he'd ever meet. Needless to say, Mike thought I was a right plonker.

University Shenanigans
But hey, we bonded over our love of a good pint – particularly snake bites, the student nectar. Our degrees nearly fell victim to Championship Manager, a game that should've come with a government health warning. We were hopeless romantics back then – afternoons spent in our pajamas watching Bargain Hunt, enthralled by David Dickinson. Let's just say we weren't exactly pulling in the ladies.

Enter Zara
Then Mike met Zara, and well, look at you two now! Zara, you're an absolute diamond. You're the best thing that's ever happened to Mike, and believe me, that's saying something.

A Bittersweet Goodbye
Mike, I'm gonna miss you, mate. A little part of me is heartbroken to see you growing up… but hey, at least we can look forward to being daft dads together in a few years, eh?
