How to Make a Child's Bow Tie

  2. Fold one piece of fabric in half lengthwise, with the right sides together. Sew the long edges together, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Leave a 2-inch opening at one end for turning.
  3. Turn the fabric right side out through the opening. Press the seam allowances flat.
  4. Fold the bow tie in half width-wise, with the right sides together. Sew the short ends together, using a 1/4-inch seam allowance.
  5. Turn the bow tie right side out. Press the seam allowances flat.
  6. If you are using Velcro or elastic, sew it to the back of the bow tie at the center.
  7. Your bow tie is now complete!
