Best Man Speech - Sample

Here is a sample best man speech:

Hello everyone, I’m John and I’m the best man for Mike.

I met Mike at university and when I first saw him I thought he was an overweight northerner that studied a non proper degree in graphic design and that could not be any use to me. But I quickly realised that he could drink beer in large quantities and realised from that moment we would be great friends. Mike liked his food and I have never seen anyone eat so much fried chicken in one sitting. He even managed to eat a full pack of Jaffa cakes in under a minute. To look at him now you would never know he was once such a big guy.

When we left university, Mike decided to stop eating fried chicken and go to the gym… and it certainly paid off. Look at him now, he’s bagged a lovely girl in Zara. Without doubt, Mike is punching above his weight with Zara, but I can see why she is with him. He’s been a great friend to me over the years, is always there for me and picks me up when I’m pissed!

Mike and Zara are a perfect match. They share a lot of interests, such as travelling, music and art. They have been to many places together, such as Paris, Rome and New York. They both love listening to Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. And they both appreciate the beauty of graphic design, especially Mike’s own creations. I’ve seen some of his work and I must say he’s very talented. He even designed the invitations and the cake for this wedding. I think he deserves a round of applause for that.

Mike and Zara, I’m so happy for you both. You are a wonderful couple and I wish you all the best for your future. I hope you have a long and happy marriage, full of love, laughter and adventure. And I hope you never stop eating fried chicken and Jaffa cakes, because life is too short to worry about calories. Cheers!
